Aug 13 - Aug 17Alpena County Fair Week
Help is Needed at The Alpena County Fair from August 13th through the 17th, but they will only need Amateur Radio Communication for two days, and possibly a third.

Thursday, August 15th...7 PM Super Kicker Rodeo. If you can help a good time to show up is 4:30 PM but no later than 5 PM.

Friday, August 16th...7 PM Bump & Run. If helping show up at 4:30 PM but no later than 5:00 PM. This is the big one we need all the help we can get!

NOTE: HELP ON SATURDAY IS ? THEY WILL LET US KNOW EITHER THURSDAY OR FRIDAY, IF WE ARE NEEDED.


Wear your reflective vest, Hat, ID Card, and bring a flashlight plus extra batteries for your hand held. The operating frequency will be 146.535 Simplex. The backup frequency will be the Alpena Repeater at 146.760- tone 88.5, or the Hubbard Lake Repeater at 145.490- tone 100.0.

Aug 20 - Aug 24Alcona County Fair Week
Provide communications and related support for the Fair at the ARA site in Lincoln. Also demonstrate Amateur Radio from the Communications Trailer.

The Communications Trailer with various Local Emergency Planning and Emergency Management information along with the American Red Cross will be on display for the public and will be manned by LEPC/CERT team members.

Attend any day to demonstrate Amateur Radio from the Communications Trailer.

Especially need help on:

- Friday (8/23) and Saturday (8/24) evening starting at about 4:30 PM
- Saturday Morning at 9 AM for the Mud Run on the Fair Grounds (15 hams needed)
- Wear your hats, vests, ID's
- Will operate on 146.535 MHz Simplex (and Repeater, if required)
- Bring a flashlight and spare batteries for your HT
- Refreshments provided
- With your Orange gear/hat, please ID yourself at the gate so you will NOT have to pay the entrance fee.
